Holiday Stress

11/1/2018

Jennifer Doctorovich, NTP, FSCP
Getting ROOTED over the Holidays!

While the holiday season is often full of family and tradition, it can also be stressful with expectations around trying to make people happy, or even that life is “perfect” when so many people find themselves alone. This month, we heard how nutrtional therapist Jennifer Doctorovich uses personality types, foods that support the adrenals, and stress management techniques like journaling, grounding, yoga, affirmations, and mindfulness to keep emotionally and physically healthy so that the holidays can be enjoyable again.

In this talk, using a blend of science and spirituality, we explored how the root element is what keeps your mind, body, and spirit in alignment so you can create healthy boundaries and stay connected to your body. Plus we learned why stress contributes to a depressed immune system and can lead to a host of autoimmune diseases and even cancer.

Food + Spirit

11/2/2017

Food and Spirit: Nourishing the Whole Self

Every meal is a miracle, a connection with what keeps us alive. Food doesn’t just provide us with energy – we actually transform ourselves through our awareness of eating. Choosing from a healthy diversity of proteins, fruits, and vegetables can ground us in the present moment, anchor us to the earth, and help cultivate healthy boundaries. By eating wisely and consciously, you can learn how to trust your instincts, engage your senses, and create nourishing traditions for yourself and your family.

This month we received an introduction to Dr. Deanna Minich’s Food + Spirit™ detoxification program: Nourish the Whole Self. Guest speaker Jennifer Doctorovich, NTP, CFSP presented this meditative approach to healing that addresses the full spectrum of mind, body, and spirit. We learned easy, fun suggestions that will help us digest better, sleep more deeply, restore optimism, and alleviate anxiety and depression.
